The Transylvania French Broad Stewards is a non-profit volunteer citizen group whose purpose is to promote the natural and economic vitality of the Upper French Broad River in Transylvania County. The organization seeks to accomplish this purpose through connecting with landowners and river users to promote best practices for agriculture, forestry development and safe recreation.
The Stewards do this by hosting an annual Riverfest in Rosman, North Carolina that brings together various community groups that all share a love for the French Broad for a fun and educational day by the water. The Stewards also work with local government to secure funding for the removal of debris jams and are working to create more volunteer opportunities around river clean-ups and river access points.
Our regular meetings are on the 4th Thursday of each month at Transylvania Cooperative Extension, 106 East Morgan Street, Brevard, NC 28712.
Donations to Transylvania French Broad Stewards are tax deductible through an agreement with the Community Focus Foundation of Transylvania County, using the following form: CFF Contribution Form. Please make checks payable to the Community Focus Foundation and write “Transylvania French Broad Stewards Project” on the memo line.
